Butterfly Experience at Millbrook Garden Centre!
/The residents went off to the Butterfly experience on Tuesday 10th September!
This was a trip that they had attended before as they enjoyed it so much the residents requested too go again!
A trip to Teapot Island
/The residents set off in the mini bus on a sunny morning in August to Tea Pot Island, they enjoyed a meal there and then looked round the museum of tea pots!
A day enjoyed by all!
Chestnuts Summer Party 2019!!
/On Friday 26th July 2019 we enjoyed our summer party!
We had an afternoon of sunshine, sitting in the garden, entertainment from Salvatore and excellent food!
All residents, relatives and friends enjoyed the afternoon and we look forward to the next chestnuts party!!
A Trip on the Kingfisher!
/On a rainy day in July we packed up the mini bus and set off to catch the Kingfisher for a cruise down the river!
Residents enjoyed cake and a warm drink whilst enjoying the views of the river!
A Trip to the Prom
/After many requests, Tamla and Carly took some residents down to the prom for a stroll and a cup of tea!
All resident enjoyed the trip out and thanks to our wonderful mini bus and activities team this can be made possible even at the last minute!
Mocktail Tuesday!!
/A few staff members attended hydration training and from this we decided to hold a mock tail/cocktail afternoon to try and promote good hydration and to make hydration fun!
The residents spent the afternoon mixing different fruit juices and trying different drinks!!
A Seaside Trip to Herne Bay!
/On a sunny Thursday morning, we set out in our mini bus to Herne Bay. We stopped in a small cafe by the sea for a tea and then headed along for a walk before settling down for fish and chips!
We then drove to Whitstable where we parked up and ate ice creams whilst over looking the sea!
A day enjoyed by both staff and residents!!
A Boat Trip on the Kingfisher!
/On a cloudy Friday afternoon we set out in our mini bus, after boarding the kingfisher we cruised along the river, drinking tea and eating home made cake (made specially by a relative)
All residents enjoyed the cruise along the river!
As this trip is so well enjoyed we have another 2 trips planned for the year
Marjorie's Trip to the Riding Stables!
/Jo Jo used to go horse riding every Friday however hasn’t had the confidence to get back on in over a year. Jo Jo wrote on our wishing tree that she would like to go back down and potentially start horse riding again. Therefore she was thrilled when a trip was arranged!
We will be going back every month with the view to getting her back on that horse!

Chestnuts Christmas Party
/On Friday 14th December the residents, relatives and staff enjoyed our annual Chestnuts Christmas party!
They enjoyed the entertainment by Salvatore, the food and danced the afternoon away!!

"Top Hat" at The Orchard Theatre - October 2018
/On Saturday 13th October we had tickets to see “Top Hat” the musical at the Orchard Theatre.
All residents enjoyed the show with all signing along to well known music and enjoying an ice cream in the interval!

Mac millian Coffee Morning - September 2018
/On Friday 21st September we held our annual MacMillian Coffee morning for the residents, staff and family and friends.
We all enjoyed cakes and tea and raised over £100!!
Tankerton and Herne Bay Seaside Trip - September 2018
/On a cold but sunny Friday afternoon in September, we ventured off to Herne Bay and Tankerton for fish and chips and a walk by the sea.
After enjoying a cup of tea by the seat in Tankerton we went into Herne Bay for fish and chips not before making it onto the mini bus before it started to rain!
Kingfisher Boat Trip - August 2018
/On a grey afternoon in August, we set off in our mini bus to enjoy an afternoon on the river in Waterbury!
All residents enjoyed tea and cake whilst cruising down the river, we even got the chance to feed the swans.
Temple in Gravesend - August 2018
/On Wednesday 8th August we visited the Temple in Gravesend along with 3 of your staff members Dev, Bali and Kuljit.
We where shown round the amazing temple and where given traditional Indian food which we all enjoyed!
All of the residents enjoyed themselves and we would like to thank our staff members who gave up their time to spend the afternoon with us and showing us around.
Lavender Fields and Pub lunch - July 2018
/On Thursday 19th July, the residents and staff enjoyed a visit to the lavender fields in Sevenoaks Kent. As soon as we opened the mini bus we could smell the lavender and the fields and fields of purple was a beautiful site.
After exploring the lavender fields and picking some of the lavender we ventured back to The Green Man in Longfield where the residents enjoyed a pub lunch and a glass of wine.
Certificate of Recognition - June 2018
/Well done Linda and Megan on their certificate of recognition awards for their dedication, hard work and flexibility with covering shifts.
They have gone above and beyond!

Royal Wedding Celebrations - May 2018
/To celebrate the Royal Wedding we celebrated in style with afternoon tea and enjoyed a wonderful cake that one of our staff members Karen made!
We enjoyed watching the wedding and being part and celebrating an important day which will make history!
A Trip to Herne Bay - May 2018
/On a bright and sunny Friday, we travelled to the seaside in our new mini bus.
The residents enjoyed tea and coffee by the sea whilst sitting in the sun and then enjoyed a walk along the front taking in the sea air.
For lunch they enjoyed fish and chips at one of the restaurants, and finished it off with an ice cream whilst sitting on the sea front before travelling back to the chestnuts.
Over 10 years of Caring - April 2018
/Lesley Plumb the Registered Manager treated carers, who had served a long service of over 10 years of working with the home, with a treat of afternoon tea at Row Hill Grange.
Pat Banks who opened the home over 34 years ago also joined the staff for the afternoon and enjoyed tea and cake.
